Vivo has officially launched the X300 series smartphones in India; the X300 and the Pro version are introduced to the new customers. The photography aspect of the new series is the main feature, and the Pro model has been provided with better camera hardware. In addition to the smartphones, Vivo has announced a telephoto extender branded by Zeiss which is supposed to improve the zoom skills.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset is at the core of both devices. The Vivo X300 comes in three memory variants that include a combination of 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage, all equipped with UFS 4.1 storage. The X300 Pro grants a single option of 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, making use of dual UFS 4.1 storage.

The two models vary in battery capacity. The standard Vivo X300 has a 6040 mAh Silicon Carbon battery while the X300 Pro has a larger 6510 mAh unit. Their charging specifications are the same with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging for both.

Vivo has given the X300 a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels, whereas the X300 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED of 2800 x 1260 pixels. The qualities of the displays in both devices are 10-bit color, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and peak brightness up to 4500 nits. Furthermore, the Pro model is compatible with Dolby Vision. The two gadgets are powered by OriginOS 6 over Android 16, and Vivo promises to deliver five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches for the devices.

The main feature of the X300 series is still the camera. The X300 has a 200MP main sensor with OIS, a 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB sensor, and the ability to produce 4K video at 120 FPS. The other camera specs are a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with 119-degree field of view, and a 50MP front camera with autofocus, all capable of 4K video at 60 FPS.

The X300 Pro is equipped with a main camera that features a 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor of 1/1.28 inches that is capable of 8K video at 30 FPS. The new model can do everything the X300 does but with one more addition of a periscope telephoto lens for 3.5X optical zoom. To enhance the photograph of far-off objects, Vivo introduced the Zeiss 2.35X Telephoto Extender that will be compatible with both the new phones as it is designed to attach the photo lens so that it can be zoomed without losing image quality.

In India, the pricing for Vivo X300 starts at Rs 75,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB model, the 12 GB + 512 GB model comes at Rs 81,999, while the 16 GB + 512 GB variant costs Rs 85,999. The Vivo X300 Pro has been priced at Rs 1,09,999 for the single configuration it offers. The manufacturers have provided a one-year warranty for both phones, with the option of getting an extended warranty too.

The cost of the Zeiss 2.35X Telephoto Extender is set at Rs 18,999. The phones along with the extender will be available for sale online through major e-commerce platforms as well as offline in retail chains. Pre-orders will be accepted until December 9, 2025, just before the general sales start shortly after.

First impressions of the Vivo X300 are that it's a well-constructed compact phone. The slightly more than 8 mm thick and 190 grams heavy phone is easy to handle. It also possesses a luxury feel due to the matte glass finish, circular camera module, and IP68/69-rated protection. Although the display is only 6.31 inches, it is very bright and sharp.

OriginOS 6 appears to be smoother and tidier than previous Vivo software, but it also offers the users new features that make the use easier. The performance and the camera quality are very promising, and the X300 has strong claims to be the best compact flagship of 2025. Final verdicts will follow after in-depth reviews.
